Green Ministry is Christian creation stewardship for prayer, gardens, food, Scripture, neighbour-love, and hope.

This site exists to help Christians reconnect faith in Christ with care for God’s creation in practical, prayerful, and hopeful ways.

It is not only about gardening, though gardens are a beautiful place to begin. Green Ministry is about receiving creation as gift, loving our neighbours, serving vulnerable communities, paying attention to the land beneath our feet, and learning to live more faithfully in God’s world.

Where This Began

Green Ministry grew out of my theology learnings at Tyndale, especially my graduation thesis on creation stewardship.

For a long time, I carried the conviction that this work should not stay tucked away in an academic paper. It needed to become something useful: writing, prayers, resources, and encouragement for churches, families, gardeners, ministry leaders, and ordinary Christians who want to begin.

This site is part of keeping that promise.

Why “Green Ministry”?

The phrase Green Ministry names a Christian response to creation’s goodness and creation’s wounds.

It is green because it pays attention to soil, water, plants, food, climate, creatures, gardens, and the material world God called good. It is green because it wants to grow and help others grow in their faith and their service.

It is ministry because creation care is not a hobby added beside faith. It can be an expression of worship, repentance, neighbour-love, justice, hospitality, spiritual formation, and mission.

Green Ministry asks:

• What does faithfulness look like on this patch of ground?
• Who is my neighbour here?
• What has God made good?
• What has been harmed?
• What can be tended, restored, shared, protected, or blessed?

Why Gardens?

Gardens make theology visible.

In a garden, we learn that growth is gift. We learn patience. We learn dependence. We learn that food comes from somewhere, that waste matters, that small acts can become love, and that children often notice what adults miss.

A church garden, community garden, balcony herb pot, seed tray, compost bin, flower bed, or prayer walk can become common ground where faith takes root in ordinary life.
