Green Ministry is Christian creation stewardship for the renewal of common ground.

It is a way of connecting faith in Christ with care for creation, prayer, worship, neighbour-love, community gardens, food, justice, and practical restoration.

Is Green Ministry only about gardening?

No.

Gardens are one beautiful and practical starting place, but Green Ministry is larger than gardening. It includes Scripture, prayer, worship, spiritual formation, food, hospitality, ecological repair, church renewal, and care for neighbours.

Community gardens matter because they make the theology visible: people can pray, work, share food, build relationships, restore soil, and serve their neighbours on common ground.

Is creation care biblical?

Yes.

Scripture begins with God creating the world and calling it good. Humanity is placed in the garden to work and care for it. The prophets, Psalms, Gospels, Romans, Colossians, and Revelation all give us language for creation, groaning, reconciliation, worship, justice, and hope.

Creation care is not a replacement for the gospel. It is one way Christians live faithfully within the gospel story of creation, sin, redemption, and new creation.

Is this political?

Green Ministry is theological before it is political.

Caring for creation can touch public issues, because food, land, water, climate, poverty, and justice affect real people and communities. But this site is not built around party politics. It is rooted in Christian faith, Scripture, prayer, neighbour-love, and hope.

The goal is not to win arguments. The goal is to become more faithful in God’s world.

Do I need a church garden to participate?

No.

You can begin with a houseplant, a balcony herb pot, a prayer walk, a compost bin, a family meal, a conversation with neighbours, a flower brought into worship, or ten quiet minutes outside with God.

Green Ministry begins with attention, gratitude, repentance, prayer, and one faithful next step.

How can my church begin?

Start small and listen first.

Before launching a garden or creation-care project, ask who should be heard: neighbours, local gardeners, food ministries, children, elders, renters, people experiencing food insecurity, community groups, and those who know the local land.

Then choose a first step that is realistic for one season.

Are the resources free?

Yes.

Green Ministry resources are offered freely for churches, families, gardeners, ministry leaders, and neighbours. You are welcome to print and share them for local church, family, garden, and ministry use.

Yes, in ordinary local-use ways.
